As the Leach Pottery begins an exciting new phase through our Capital Development Project, we want to reassure visitors that although our original shop will be temporarily closed for a complete upgrade, our shop will be relocated to a space in our new building. There may be a few days where we have to close the original shop to prepare the transition, but please be assured that any disruption will be kept to a minimum.
While our surroundings may temporarily change, the heart of the Leach Pottery shop remains the same: handmade ceramics, thoughtful craftsmanship, and a connection to over a century of studio pottery in St Ives.
Whilst our original shop is being restored and upgraded, our relocated shop space will continue to offer a carefully selected collection of pottery, including Leach Standard Ware, contemporary ceramics, and handmade pieces created by Leach Pottery Studio Potters and makers connected to the Leach Pottery.
Every piece we sell reflects the values that have shaped the pottery since 1920: functional design, quality craftsmanship and the beauty of handmade objects created to be used and enjoyed every day.
Supporting the shop during this period also means supporting working ceramics, heritage craft and the future of the Leach Pottery itself. Every purchase helps sustain the makers, skills and creative community that continue to shape the pottery today.
Whether you are visiting St Ives for the first time or returning to the pottery again, we hope the shop remains part of your visit. From one-off studio ceramics to timeless tableware and meaningful gifts, there is always something new to discover.
Our team will continue to offer the same warm welcome and knowledge that visitors have come to expect, and we look forward to sharing this next chapter with our community.
As redevelopment work continues, we encourage visitors to keep exploring, supporting and celebrating handmade pottery in St Ives.
The location of our shop may temporarily change, but the spirit of the Leach Pottery remains firmly at its centre.
