Leach Pottery has worked with some of Cornwall’s most prestigious brands including Seasalt, and more locally hand-crafted Potters’ Aprons by Francli Craftwear and limited edition lino prints by artist and printmaker Lou Tonkin, as well as national brand Toast. This season we collaborated with Christen Pears, who runs Middle Colenso Farm; situated in a quiet rural location, near Penzance and just a couple of miles from Prussia Cove.

About Christen Pears and her home
Christen’s exquisitely decorated farmhouse with its pared-down, mid-century, Scandinavian interior was the perfect location for us to create a cosy Christmas backdrop for our Standard Ware. As Christen is a keen customer, Leach ware has made a perfect home among the beautiful collection of treasured possessions and furniture; including Børge Mogensen chairs, a vintage Ernst Race DA1 armchair, Josef Frank textiles and a library wall of vintage Penguin paperbacks.
Middle Colenso Farm has been lovingly restored over the last 10 years and consists of the main farmhouse where Christen lives with her husband, Chris, as well as three holiday cottages. There is also a Pilates studio where Christen teaches and hosts fitness retreats. Middle Colenso has been featured in a number of national interiors magazines.
Christen also runs the online shop Muddled Vintage, founded with her friend and fellow cocktail-drinker Helen Prudames. Searching the South West for vintage glasses and barware to sell in their shop, their collection is carefully curated, focusing on beautiful and timeless pieces that help to create a unique home full of character and individuality.
